Nov 10 2006 Hilary Duff, 27, and Joel Madden, 19, Have Split
Hilary Duff Stalker Pleads Not Guilty Nov
9, 2006 It has been revealed that on Friday a private investigator from Sunset Protective Services contacted
Miakovsky at the Residence Inn motel and Miakovsky stated his intention of killing Duff on Sunday (05.11.06). Miakovsky was arrested at the motel and was being held on $200,000 bail at the Manhattan Beach jail
after being charged with making criminal threats and stalking. Duff, 19, and her boyfriend, Joel Madden, took out the restraining order because they feared Miakovsky
planned to kill them. Legal papers filed by Duff alleged that Miakovsky had "stated his intention of 'removing' his 'enemies'
(i.e. those who prevent him from being with Duff), stated his intention of purchasing a weapon and threatened to kill himself
and to engage in dramatic actions to get her attention." Duff also alleges in legal documents that Miakovsky came to the US "for the sole purpose of meeting
and becoming romantically involved with Ms. Duff". According to the AP, Maksim Myaskovskiy pleaded not guilty Tuesday (Nov.7) to stalking Duff.
Maksim Myaskovskiy was charged with the felony when he appeared in court, and his bail was raised to $1 million. A Nov. 22
hearing was set to determine whether enough evidence exists to order him to stand trial.

Hilary Duff Files Restraining Order Against Russian Stalker October 13 06 Court documents claim Max and Klein have made repeated attempts to contact the actress' manager and
have waited outside her mother's house, a Hollywood venue when Madden's band Good Charlotte performed last month, and a local
Los Angeles market, where the couple often shop. Documents claim Max "admitted to being 'obsessed' with her, has stated his intention of 'removing'
his 'enemies' (i.e., those who prevent him from being with her), has stated his intention of purchasing a weapon, and has
threatened to kill himself and to engage in dramatic actions to get her attention." The couple also alleges Max "has stated his belief that Hilary is in love with him and that Joel Madden
stands in their way." Papers claim Max moved from Russia to Los Angeles two years ago for the sole purpose of starting a relationship
with Duff. Duff claims the men are causing her "substantial emotional distress" and are asking an L.A. judge to grant a restraining
order for both men to stay 100 feet away from the couple at all times. A hearing is set for November 15.
. Live Review: Hilary Duff in Toronto TORONTO - Hilary Duff cemented her position as the ultimate Tween Queen last night with a show at
the Molson Amphitheatre that provided everything her young audience could have wanted -- earnest smiles, poppy singalong choruses,
girl-positive lyrics, dancing, sparkly lights and just the merest hint of rock 'n' roll.
In just a few years, Duff -- perhaps the only artist who could get away with putting out a greatest-hits
collection after releasing just two albums -- has turned a starring role in the TV show Lizzie McGuire into a giant entertainment-lifestyle
empire that encompasses movies, a new tween clothing line and a fragrance as well as music.
And last night's almost entirely female crowd proved their love by singing along, dancing, waving
their glowsticks and screaming so much that earplugs were more of a necessity than at most of the summer's big rock shows.
What is it about Hilary that so enchants her fans, most of whom are a decade younger than she is?
It's not the songs, which range from sub-Madonna dance-pop to sub-Avril pop-punk, or her voice, which is unremarkable at best.
Perhaps it's just that the everygirl Lizzie McGuire persona got so far into the teen-girl universe
that they couldn't help but love everything Hilary did.
Still, a teen star's moment doesn't last forever, and already there are signs that Duff, who turns
19 in September, is looking to stretch beyond the role of pop princess. Her latest songs, co-written with boyfriend Joel Madden of Good Charlotte, are punkier and more rock
guitar-based than the fluffy early pop hits.
And both Duff -- dark-haired and wearing jeans, cowboy boots and a rock T -- and her black-clad band
were clearly trying their best to look badass.
Opening with Wake Up, one of three new songs on last year's Most Wanted collection, Duff and co.,
went on to play rockier versions of hits like Getaway, Mr. James Dean and Do You Want Me, interspersed with big rock ballads
like Cry, Someone's Watching Over Me and Hide Away.
She got virtually everyone in the place to raise their hands and clap during her catchiest song, Come
Clean, and to dance with pure youthful joy to Party Up, Break My Heart and The Beat Of My Heart.
Perhaps Duff's finest moment, though, came during the song I Am, which she introduced by explaining
that everyone has up and down days and should feel proud to be who they are.
Then she got all the tweens to announce that they are special, beautiful, wonderful, powerful, etc.
She may be encouraging them to beg their parents for low-rise jeans soon, but give her credit for
that one little bit of positive thinking.
Hilary Duff will be the host of the West Coast portion of Dick Clark's "New Year's Rockin' Eve" on ABC this year,
and she will perform three songs. Producers already announced this summer that Clark, who will be making his first television appearance since suffering
a stroke last December, will be in Times Square with co-host Ryan Seacrest. Duff, who has sold more than 1 million copies of her "Most Wanted" CD, takes over a West Coast role that was filled
last year by Ashlee Simpson, producers said Monday. Clark's ABC year-end special, traditionally the party of choice for those who ring in the New Year in front of
the television, faces competition from a new Fox show with Regis Philbin. Philbin was Clark's emergency substitute on ABC
last year. Carson Daly will be the host of a New Year's special on NBC. |

POP princess Hilary Duff won over more than 10,000 fans during her sell-out
show at the Entertainment Centre on Saturday night, but none more so than the Styles family. During her tour of the East Coast, teen queen Duff proved she has substance
as well as style when she found time in her schedule to meet Mark and Penny Styles and their daughters Haylie and Georgia.
The family sadly lost their eight-year-old son William to leukaemia in October, and thanks to Duff,
were able to honour one of his last wishes.
As the singer's "number one fan," William had asked his father to promise him that if Duff ever came
to Australia, he would ask her to visit the sick kids in Westmead Children's Hospital.
While her Hollywood gal-pals Nikki Hilton and Kimberley Stewart did little to change their spoilt
party princess reputations when in Sydney recently, Duff showed maturity beyond her 18 years when - flanked by the Styles
family - handed out presents to the kids at the hospital on Thursday.
Duff gave the family tickets to her sold-out show, where she wowed the crowd with an energetic stage
routine. Duff wraps up her three month global tour today, when she flies out of Australia bound for LA. Love
your work.
